Pack LIGHTLY. You can buy almost anything you need in Europe, and over-packing is easiest way to make travel painful. Plus, buying regular clothing abroad makes a fantastic souvenir to bring home. I only take: one swimsuit, one dress, something to sleep in, one sweater, one pair of long pants, one pair of shorts, one shirt, and practical walking shoes. You can expect the weather to be warm during the day (65-75) and it can get cold at night (45-55), especially in the mountains. Bring sunscreen. Though rain is rare, it does occasionally happen (but inexpensive umbrellas are easy to find). You’ll need an adaptor for your electronics, but they are also easily available in Barcelona for around $2.
Art supplies to consider:
Charcoal, eraser, and sketchbook
A small travel sized water color paints and a water brush (a paint brush that holds water inside it so you don’t need a separate cup for water)
Oil or chalk pastels
Writing notebook (or buy one the first day in Barcelona)
Books set in the area (see reading list)
Camera for photography
Baggies for collecting objects for found object art
Another art form I haven’t considered
A book for pressing flowers
