Artist-in-Resident in Schools

Marianne works with students from kindergarten to adult, celebrating the power and play inherent in words. K-12 students write sound poems, flash fiction, concrete poems, or short stories, and then create watercolor images to illustrate and complement their work. Basic principles of illustration, design, and page layout are covered before the finished images are "published" for the classroom. Projects are tailored to fit classroom curriculum, and the students leave inspired by the power of word and image.
